In what has been a wonderful all year round performance, that has seen him take out all six round wins in the 2008 NSW Championship, Simpson, driving the # 16 Parramatta Smash Repairs supported Anglo Australian Motorsport Spirit 08K, has won 16 out of the 18 races and in the two races that he didn’t manage to win he had finished in second and third place. 

The final round of the NSW Championship saw Simpson need to finish the opening race in the Top 5 in order to clinch the NSW Championship, and he did that quite comfortably after he firstly qualified on pole position to start off the weekend and he then ran away with all three race wins. 

“I knew what I had to do to win the NSW Championship, and I didn’t really think about it that much, as all I wanted to do was just continue my success and chase race wins,” Simpson explained. 

“When I first competed at the Eastern Creek circuit earlier this year in round two of the NSW Championship there were a number of things I had to work on, and I managed to do that as we were better for the experience.” 

Simpson was quick to praise the Anglo Australian Motorsport team for their roles in making his debut year in Formula Ford such a memorable and successful one. 

“This is the second year in a row that the Anglo Australian Motorsport team has had one of their driver’s win the NSW Championship, and I’m very proud to be able to do that as they have put in a lot of effort all year long,” he said. 

“I have had a wonderful year, and the experience and professionalism of the Anglo Australian Motorsport team has made my introduction into Formula Ford a very rewarding and satisfying one, and I simply cannot thank them all enough.” 

In regards to next year Simpson is currently in process of exploring his options to step up to next year’s Australian Formula Ford Championship.
