Clean Sweep for Borsato PDF Print E-mail

Fresh from contesting the last two rounds of the National Championship, Stefan Borsato returned to the NSW Formula Ford Championship recently at Goulburn’s Wakefield Park Raceway in the best possible fashion.

The Synergy Motorsport team driver was able to show the benefits of running in the National Championship by clean sweeping the weekend in the NSW Championship that saw him top the time sheets in qualifying and then win three from three races in strong fashion.

After dominating qualifying and the opening two races in the ‘Fiesta’ class, Borsato found the going a little tougher during the third and final race. Borsato was involved in a tight dice during the latter stages of the final race with Alan Price and it saw the pair swap the lead change on the final lap before the former was able to take back the lead and take out a clean sweep of the round.

Borsato admitted that competing in the past two National Championship rounds had certainly helped him complete a perfect weekend around the 2.2km Wakefield Park circuit aboard the # 17 Perisher / Brunelli’s Cafe supported Spectrum 011C.

“Running the last two rounds of the National Championships certainly had its benefits, as it not only gave me a lot more experience but it has most importantly made me a better driver both on and off the track,” the 18-year-old expressed. “Now with more experience onboard it has helped greatly out on the track as I’m now a lot more consistent and off the track I’ve been able to relay better feedback to the team and been a lot more focused when race weekend comes around. It was a real eye opener and already it’s proving that I’m better off because of this experience.”

The fifth and final round of the NSW Championship is set down for the weekend of October 23 and 24 at Sydney’s Eastern Creek Raceway and that is going to be the final appearance of the year for Borsato.

Borsato would like to say a special thanks to Synergy Motorsport, Brunelli’s Cafe and Perisher for all their ongoing support in 2010.
