EXTRACT FROM 2008 CHAMPIONSHIP REGULATIONS:
Tyres
- The Chief scrutineer will be a Judge of Fact in relation to any decision relating to a breach of these tyre regulations.
- No more that six (6) tyres may be used for qualifying and racing at each round, of which a maximum of four (4) tyres can be new tyres, and two (2) must be used tyres. A competitor may only nominate four (4) new tyres if they wish.
- A used tyre is defined as a tyre which has been nominated for that competitor on a tyre nomination form at a previous form at a previous round of the 2008 NSW Formula Ford 1600 Championship. All other tyres are deemed to be new tyres.
- Entrants will be required to nominate the identification numbers of each of the tyres which they propose to use, on a form provided by the organisers, to be completed and handed to the scrutineers no less than (60) minutes prior to the scheduled commencement f the qualifying session. Tyre identification numbers will be checked, at random, during the meeting to ensure that they correspond with the numbers notified by the competitor. Scrutineers may mark the nominated tyres for ease of identification. Only tyres carrying the appropriate marks are permitted for qualifying and at the start of each race.
- If a nominated tyre is damaged it may only be replaced by a tyre of a similar wear and only at the sole discretion of the chief scrutineer.
- If the race director declares the track conditions to be wet, competitors ay use unmarked tyres during that session or race.
